Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 April 2026
1. Who runs this site
This website (reichertonline.be) is a personal portfolio operated by Gilles Reichert, based in Liège, Belgium. It is not a commercial service and does not register, profile, or transact with visitors.
2. What this site does not collect
In plain terms:
- No analytics, no trackers, no advertising scripts.
- No contact forms, comments, or sign-ups.
- No account system, no login, no profiling.
- No cross-site tracking pixels or fingerprinting.
3. Server logs
The web server (lighttpd) may write standard access logs, which can include your IP address, the request path, the timestamp, the referring page, and your user-agent string. These logs exist for security and operational purposes (debugging, abuse prevention) and are kept for a short period before rotation. They are not shared with third parties and are not combined with any other data set.
4. Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies.
It does use one entry in your browser's localStorage:
theme— remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
It is stored only in your browser, never sent to the server, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
5. Third-party resources
To render the page, your browser loads a small number of assets from third-party CDNs. These providers can technically see your IP address and user-agent because the request comes from your browser:
- Google Fonts — serves the Inter and Montserrat web fonts.
- Tailwind CSS CDN (jsDelivr/Cloudflare) — serves the styling framework.
No data is intentionally shared with these providers beyond what is required to deliver the asset. External links elsewhere on the site (GitHub, LinkedIn, Bluesky, X, Telegram, Wikipedia, Microsoft Learn, etc.) are governed by those services' own privacy policies once you click through.
6. Email
The email address on the home page is obfuscated to reduce scraping. If you choose to write, your message and any personal data it contains will be processed only to reply to you, and will not be added to any mailing list.
7. Your rights under the GDPR
As this site operates from Belgium, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies. Even though almost no personal data is processed, you have the right to:
- Request access to any data held about you.
- Request correction or deletion of that data.
- Object to processing or request its restriction.
- Lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD/GBA).
To exercise any of these rights, contact me via the email link on the home page.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. There is no notification mechanism — please check back if it matters to you.
